Jānis Ķīnasts
Environmental planner, designer and educator with a BSc in Environmental Science and an MA in Arts and Design. In the last ten years, Jānis has worked in Latvia, Greece, Egypt, Tasmania, Hong Kong and Azerbaijan. In 2012, introduced the term “placemaking” in Latvia. Has consulted the largest municipalities in Latvia, largest real estate developers, various ministries and activist communities. The official ambassador of the New European Bauhaus.
Līga Lindenbauma
Facilitator and service designer. Curator of exhibitions and cultural events. Over 20 years of experience collaborating between public, private and NGO sectors. Holds a BA and MA in Art History and Theory from the Latvian Academy of Arts, as well as a Master’s degree in Service Design and Innovations. In her creative expertise, Līga connects the science of art and experience in exhibition and event organisation with design thinking, co-creation and user-centric design.
Uga Kalendris
Designer, data analyst and humanities researcher with a Bachelor in Digital Humanities and experience in graphic design, data analytics and UX research. Has actively participated in NGO’s and gained professional experiences in both private and public sectors. Holds his head in the clouds when thinking and his feet on the ground when working.
Karīna Dzene
Holds an MSc in Personnel Management and appropriate social work qualifications. Long-standing expertise in state administration, project coordination and personnel management. Has provided extensive support for colleagues, partners, employers, municipalities and NGO representatives. Has overlooked many project activities, including support for discriminated and marginalized groups, including adolescents, people with disabilities and refugees.
Elma Eižēnija Pētersone
Holds a Master’s degree in curatorial studies from the Latvian Academy of Arts. Has worked at two Latvian higher education institutions – the Latvian Academy of Arts and Riga Technical University, working on projects aimed to improve the study process, develop and strengthen internal capacity. In the Innovation Laboratory team, Elma keeps a close eye on the progress of the state public sector innovation project.
Evija Taurene (on temporary leave)
Extensive experience in topics regarding public participation, NGO’s, state administration, and cross-sector collaboration. Has a creative eye on everyday processes.
Evija holds an MSc in spatial development planning with a focus on public participation and innovations, as well as an ongoing PhD in Geography, focusing on experimental approaches in urban development. Holds lectures and seminars at the University of Latvia on public participation in spatial development, public open space and urban environments.
